Delhi has implemented a fuel ban on older vehicles to combat rising air pollution. Diesel vehicles over 10 years old and petrol vehicles over 15 years old are now denied fuel at petrol stations. This measure is part of a broader strategy by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to phase out end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) in the National Capital Region (NCR) by 2026.

Extended to high-density NCR districts from November 2025
Expanded to rest of NCR by April 2026
